Salmonella monitoring is important because the disease is easily transmitted between and humans. The environment can also be a major source of contamination.
Microbiological contamination of water and the environmental can play an important role in the health and productivity of poultry. Testing is done to help detect where in the production line a problem may occur due to contamination and contributes to understanding which hygiene practices need to be improved.
